Electrical Maintenance Technician – 3rd Shift

Educational Requirements

Required Education and Experience

  • Three (3) or more years of manufacturing maintenance experience with strong electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical skills, including experience with PLCs, motors, and motor controls
  • Experience with servo systems, machine vision, and robotics is a plus
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program or an equivalent number of years of education and manufacturing maintenance experience is a plus

Job Description

Summary/Objective

  • The electrical maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment in a safe manner

Essential Functions

  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical troubleshooting and repair of production machines
  • Read and interpret blueprints, equipment manuals, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities
  • Perform simple machinist or fabricator duties and responsibilities
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas

Work Environment

  • This job operates in a manufacturing plant
  • Certain tasks or work areas require hearing protection to be worn
  • May be working in areas where fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration are present – appropriate personal protection equipment must be worn in those areas

Physical Demands and Abilities

 The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job

  • Regularly lift 30-50 pounds
  • Regularly perform repetitive tasks
  • Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work 

  • This is a full-time, 3rd shift position
  • Days and hours of work are generally Sunday evening through Friday morning, 8:35 p.m. to 6:05 a.m. (Friday/Saturday overtime as necessary)

 Travel

  • Some travel may be required to attend training, seminars, trade shows, and/or equipment evaluations
  • Some travel could be overnight and/or international

Supervisory Responsibility

  • This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities
